The TC22 is the entry point into proper scanning hardware. It looks and feels close to a phone, which makes it unintimidating for staff who spend most of their day doing something else — serving customers, picking orders, working a counter — and count stock a few times a year.
What separates it from an actual phone is the part you cannot see: a real scan engine behind the glass, and a trigger. That is the difference between a scan that lands instantly and one that needs the operator to frame a shot.
How it counts.
On a TC22 the whole Stocktakes Online flow happens on the touchscreen. Scan a bin, scan a part, key the quantity on the on-screen keypad. For a stockroom of a few hundred lines that is entirely comfortable.
Where it starts to tell is volume. Typing quantities on glass all day is slower than a physical keypad, and a device this size gets tiring held out at arm's length for hours. If your count runs for days rather than an afternoon, look at the MC3400.

Two kits, with nothing left to buy.
A scanner on its own cannot finish a stocktake — there is nothing to charge it in and nothing to swap when the battery goes. Each of these is everything one operator needs, working, out of the box. They differ in one part: the scan engine.
Which one? If every label you have to read is within arm's reach, take the first. If your bin labels sit on the top beam of high racking, the second reads them from the floor — worth more than a hundred dollars the first time somebody would otherwise have fetched a ladder.

This is hardware. The software is separate. Stocktakes Online is licensed per stocktake, from $110 inc GST — see pricing. Buying a scanner does not include a licence to count with it, and a licence does not include a scanner.
Counting with more than one scanner? Ask us before buying cradles. A four-bay charger costs less than four single ones and takes up a quarter of the bench, so the kit above is the right answer for one device and the wrong one for five.
Counting once a year? Hire may well beat buying. Fourteen years of renting scanners for stocktakes says it usually does — the devices arrive staged and go back afterwards. Six are available at $110 a day →
